Matt's 2005 BMW Twin-Spark F650CS ABS Log

Matt & his new scarver october 2009

On October 28, 2009, my friend Matt picked up this Titan Silver Metallic 2005 BMW Twin-Spark F650CS ABS with only 3,480 original miles from Cross-Country BMW in Metuchen, NJ. The bike came complete with a useful 31L BMW topcase, but is otherwise bone stock and in excellent overall condition. Its previous owner had registered it in Pennsylvania, and its first 600 mile service was at Bob's BMW in Maryland. Before Matt took delivery of the F650, his first bike, Cross-Country changed the motor oil and brake fluid. Since Matt lives in Manhattan, he is storing the bike in my garage, where it will be kept safe and maintained. The following is the F's maintenance log:

November 29, 2011 - 6,312 Miles: Cross-Country BMW in Metuchen, NJ performed a 6,000 mile service along with other minor repairs.

November 5, 2010 - 4,776 Miles: The F's charging system had some issues keeping up with the demands of the 50W Motolight bulbs. Swapping for 35W only improved things marginally, so we installed some nifty LED MR16s, which draw only 6W each, yet put out the equivalent light of a standard 50W incandescent.

July 3, 2010 - 4,382 Miles: The original battery gave up and left the F stranded in New Hope, PA. Luckily the local dealer had a new one in stock, though it is another wetcell....

January 29, 2010 - 4,011 Miles: Additional lighting was added for safety and conspicuity.

October 30, 2009 - 3,552 Miles: Engine guards were the order of the day to keep the bike unscathed, since Matt is a new rider. While installing them, I noticed one of the F's emission canister nipples was broken, so I removed the canister entirely and vented the fuel line directly to the atmosphere.
